Take Better Photographs: 10 Simple Ways to See and Compose Better Images

Free 1-Hour Online Photography Webinar
On Zoom Saturday 11 July, 11:00am
Do you sometimes feel that your photographs don’t quite capture what you saw, felt or intended?
This relaxed one-hour online session is designed to help you move beyond simply pointing the camera and hoping for the best. Based on my free guide, 10 Ways to See and Compose Better Photographs, the session will give you practical, easy-to-use ideas that can make an immediate difference to your photography — whatever camera you use.
You do not need expensive equipment, advanced technical knowledge or years of experience. The emphasis is on learning to see more clearly, compose with more confidence, and make photographs that feel more considered and expressive.
What you’ll learn
During the session we’ll look at simple ways to improve your photographs before you press the shutter, including:
-
how to slow down and really look before taking the picture
-
how to simplify a scene so the subject is clearer
-
how to use light, shape, line and framing more deliberately
-
how to avoid common composition mistakes
-
how to make your photographs feel more personal and less accidental
-
how small changes in viewpoint can transform an image
The aim is not to overwhelm you with camera settings, but to help you make stronger photographs by changing the way you look.
Who is it for?
This session is ideal for:
-
beginners who want to take better photographs
-
returning photographers who feel a little rusty
-
camera club or enthusiast photographers who want fresh creative input
-
anyone who relies on automatic settings but wants more control
-
phone photographers who want to improve their seeing and composition
-
people who enjoy photography but feel stuck or unsure how to improve
Whether you use a phone, compact camera, mirrorless camera or DSLR, the ideas in this session will help you think more clearly about the image you want to make.
